The introduction of Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations, OSHA Standard CFR 29 Subpart L §1910.155 which came into force on December 1, 1997 and USACE EM 385-1-1, Section 9, Fire Prevention and Protection, requires employers to provide fire safety awareness training to all employees.
This course is designed to instruct the participants in fire safety basics; what to look for, how to prevent fire from happening in the first place, and what to do if there is an emergency. It is essential for every employee to know what to do in the event there is a fire. All employees must also be trained on the proper use of portable fire extinguishers.
